by | Jul 8, 2014 | regular

We are delighted to announce that as part of our ambitious growth plans we have appointed Georgina Gurnhill into a new role of Director of Marketing & Communications as of 1st July. Based out of our London office, Georgina is the go-to-person for all community liaisons, press inquiries, and events.

Georgina joins us most recently from Digital Science where she headed up their central marketing and communications team, mentoring multiple start-up and early-stage tech businesses for the scientific community. With over 16 years experience in global scientific and medical publishing Georgina has also held senior strategic marketing positions at The Lancet, Thomson Reuters, Nature Publishing Group and Institute of Physics Publishing.

A big advocate of embracing new technologies for scientific research and pushing publishing models forward, Georgina said that she is “thrilled to be joining PeerJ at such a pivotal time in their growth. They are a great team who have already managed to create a big noise in the academic publishing space. PeerJ excels at helping individual academics highlight, and profile their involvement, in the scholarly communication field. I look forward to spreading the message and building on the team’s success over the coming months.

Great to have you on board, Georgina!
