Stanford University leads latest group to join PeerJ

We are pleased to announce the latest universities to have signed up with PeerJ to centrally fund Publication Plans for their faculty (meaning that authors from their institutions will have their publication plans automatically paid using funds made available via the library).

With the most recent addition of Stanford University, we now have 20 institutions signed up with PeerJ (a list which also includes Cambridge, Berkeley, Duke, and University College London for example). In addition to these 20 universities, numerous others have committed to supporting Open Access charges in some form and many of them also have public pages on PeerJ.

As we approach the one year anniversary of having published our first articles (a milestone which we celebrate tomorrow), it is a great sign that so many world class institutions appreciate the PeerJ model to the extent that they have chosen to support their researchers in this way.

New Institutions since our last update:

* Stanford University

* University College London

* Kansas University

* University of New Mexico

* University of Glasgow

* Colorado State University

* University of Arizona

* Emory University

* University of Manitoba

For the price of just one year of access to just one subscription journal (or a single APC fee at a more pricey Open Access publisher) your university could fund the lifetime publication plans for a large number of your faculty!

If you want your institution to be on this list, then put your librarian in touch. Note: Institutions in the UK can sign up via the Jisc catalog.
