PeerJ is pleased to announce that we are now listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). You will notice that in addition to simply being listed, PeerJ articles are also being indexed and presented as a part of the DOAJ database (something that not all journals make available).
The DOAJ “aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. In short, the DOAJ aims to be THE one stop shop for users of open access journals.” As such it is an important database to be listed in – metadata and other information from the DOAJ flows into a number of secondary databases and so our inclusion is important in ensuring that PeerJ is appropriately indexed as widely as possible.
In addition to the DOAJ, PeerJ is now fully indexed in PubMed, PubMed Central, Scopus, and Google Scholar; we are full members of OASPA (the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association) and COPE (the Committee on Publication Ethics); and we were named as one of the “Top 10 Technology Innovators in Higher Education, 2013” by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
PeerJ has been publishing since February 2013 and in addition, PeerJ PrePrints is now available for your preprint needs.

Update 10/27/2014: PeerJ is also now indexed by Web of Science (WoS), Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews. The journal will receive a JCR 2014 Impact Factor in June 2015.
