In association with Open Access Week we are delighted to announce that from now (Oct 20th 2014) until December 19th 2014 we are offering free publication of your article.

Since PeerJ began publishing in February 2013 we have published a significant amount of great science, with hundreds of articles and preprints, culminating in the work of over 3,000 authors. In recognition of Open Access Week we’d like to add your work to the thousands of authors who have already published with PeerJ.

We know that many authors have yet to experience the benefits of publishing in an open access journal, so where better to publish than in PeerJ, the award winning open access journal? Our authors truly value the fact that they can publish with us at low cost and high speed, whilst we pride ourselves on the high-quality submission and transparent peer-review process their research undergoes. We also want researchers like you to experience the benefits that our end-to-end process provides with the integration of PrePrints into our full publishing platform.

As a result, we are pleased to announce that from Oct 20th, 2014 through December 19th 2014, any article that is or has been submitted to PeerJ PrePrints that is also submitted to PeerJ for peer review can go on to be published in PeerJ entirely for free if editorially accepted.

[Note: The PeerJ manuscript must be newly submitted for peer review during the promotion period: Oct 20th, 2014 through end of day December 19th 2014. The PrePrint can be submitted any time before the corresponding PeerJ manuscript has been accepted and before December 19th 2014]

As we celebrate Open Access Week and the upcoming 11 year anniversary of the Berlin Declaration (one of the seminal moments in the history of Open Access), we want to make sure that researchers realize that Open Access publishing has evolved, and we want as many as possible to experience what it has become. We look forward to welcoming you as a PeerJ author.

Note: * For clarification, your preprint must be posted to PeerJ PrePrints after today (Oct 20th) and before the associated PeerJ submission is editorially Accepted, or before end of day December 19th 2014 (whichever comes first). We recommend that you (a) submit the PrePrint first, and then once it is published you will have the opportunity to (b) submit the same article to PeerJ for formal peer review, via the “Submit to PeerJ” button which will then be appearing in your manuscript summary screen (using this button means you do not have to re-enter any metadata). Your resulting PeerJ submission must be initiated before December 19th 2014. Note: The offer is applied to your account manually by the staff who check your manuscript, therefore there may be some small delay before your account reflects the fact that the submission is free.

* For those authors who have access to a PeerJ publishing plan via your institution you may already be eligible to publish your article for free, and beyond this offer ending December 19th . Talk to your library or visit the PeerJ Institutional Page for more information and eligibility criteria.
